Created through a shared love for yoga and mindfulness and a real belief in the benefits these practices hold for future generations Sue and Chey created OM Kids in 2017. Since then they have run many successful kids yoga training and workshops, mindfulness courses for teachers and students and produced a beautiful set of yoga and mindfulness cards depicting Uniom - The yoga-loving unicorn!
Welcome to Om Kids Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Training, where we journey with you as you learn to teach these two beautiful well-being practices- yoga for kids and mindfulness for kids.
We offer teachers training in Module form, step by step, to complete a full 95hour comprehensive training, which you can take the module for module at your own time - or commit to the full journey <3
This journey will take you even more deeply into your own practice first, in order to create a foundation for what you will then share with the children in your lives, communities and classes. And then into how to teach these practices to children with specially designed lesson plans and child-friendly techniques.
No matter where you are on the path, join us. We will keep you company and shine a light into the places in your heart that matter. Because we are inspired by that little aha! moments, when you forget about the perfect asana or doing the exercise ‘correctly’, when you relax all your efforts and you suddenly have an insight, a space that opens, a pause that wasn’t there before. Those little realizations are different for each of us. They depend on where you are and what you are working on presently, and yet you can see immediately when someone has had one. Something just clicks and there is this beaming smile, or this look of realisation you recognize as something you know yourself.
We are inspired by the experience of the breath, the feeling of the gentle conscious movements, the silence of the sitting in meditation, the peacefulness and serenity that is generated in body and mind. The full heart and the shining soul at ease with the world as it is. The turning toward the pain of suffering and loving yourself enough to hold yourself in a loving embrace throughout the movement.
This is the gold of yoga and mindfulness – finding our own inner wisdom, our own guiding force, the inner Guru, falling in love with our own hearts and minds and appreciating the way that you can bring that for the children you teach. For them to be more than they imagine they can be.
